greater greenville cvb case study
The Greater Greenville Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) works to position Greenville and South Carolina's Upstate as the preferred place to live, work and visit. It is responsible for bringing a targeted mix of meetings, conventions, seminars and special events to the Upstate and for promoting the destination to potential visitors.
Prior to the implementation of SMI's systems, the Greenville CVB utilized multiple databases to manage sales and customer information; none of which communicated critical information with one another or utilized currently available technology tools. Business opportunities for members were difficult and time consuming to process, limiting their ability to generate and distribute leads in a timely and efficient manner.
A lack of flexible reporting options made it difficult for management to review and examine the success and/or failure of different sales strategies or to even measure the performance of their sales team at any significant level.
After reviewing a variety of systems that were available for sales and customer relationship management, the CVB realized that they needed a solution that was designed specifically for their industry. Also important, it had to be affordable to meet the needs and budget of a small destination.
The Greater Greenville CVB implemented Destination 3000™ from SMI . The solution includes modules and tools specifically to manage the sales and customer relationship management process inherent to destinations.
SMI and the Greater Greenville CVB have worked together successfully for over 10 years. Now that the CVB's outstanding team is supported by a system that works intuitively with their business model, they are free to pursue meeting, convention and tourism business with ease and confidence.
